In late May/early June, I took my new fiancee to my hometown in Alabama to introduce him to all my family. While he had met my Mom and Aunt Pat in January when they were here in The City for our engagement party, he had not met anyone else. And I also wanted to spend time with my lovely 20 month old nephew, Jackson.
As you can see by the pictures I have posted below, we did indeed have a marvelous time. Everyone liked David a lot, and he got along with everyone very very well. Other than spending time with Jackson and other family members, we went on a day hike through the Dismals Canyon in Phil Campbell, AL - a magnificanly beautiful spot unlike any other on this earth - and also took a tour of my mom's friend Maria's moss garden. And then there was just the wonderful relaxing time spent on the 100 acres of farmland, which is actually now being turned into mostly forest by my mom's planting of over 50,000 hard wood trees in the past few years. And we spent Memorial Day at a bar-b-que that my step-sister, Karen, and her husband had at their home on the Tennessee River.
All in all, it was a wonderful trip and I couldn't have asked for it to turn out better than it did. David is still talking about it to friends 3 weeks later and I think he may even be looking forward to his next visit!!

Hunk City Here......
Thanks young man. I've been given permission from your Uncle to say hello and howdy. Just a rapid note of support. Your Uncle loves you very much and I look forward to meeting you some day in the not too distant future.
Much Love,
You Uncle 'In Law' [to be].....David
